North Catholic H.S. to receive Pa.’s first-ever scholastic esports state championship trophy



PIEA to host trophy presentation on Monday to recognize North Catholic’s Spring 2021 Rocket League championship



HARRISBURG, Pa. (June 4, 2021) -- The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Esports Association (PIEA) will award the state’s first-ever scholastic esports state championship trophy on Monday, June 7 to North Catholic High School’s esports program. North Catholic won the PIEA Spring 2021 State Championships in Rocket League last month after going 6-1 in the regular season and running through the State Championship postseason.

The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. on North Catholic’s campus located at 1617 Route 228 in Cranberry Township.

In addition to winning the PIEA trophy, North Catholic’s esports program also earned $1,400 in scholarship funds and high-quality gaming peripherals, including ViewSonic monitors and HyperX headphones.
